I'm originally from Portugal and after island hopping Manhattan, Singapore, the UK, and a small
portion of Stockholm's archipelago, I now call Copenhagen - in the island of Zealand - my home.

I am currently a Postdoc at the IxD Lab, Department of Digital Design, IT University of Copenhagen.
I was previously a Postdoc in Media Technology and Interaction Design with the MID research group
at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. I completed my Ph.D. at Newcastle University's Open Lab,
and my Master's studies at NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP).

My practice research includes designing interactions and prototypes as catalysts for discussion,
mainly on topics of taboo. My long-term research goal is to design technologies that can assist
social justice pursuits and have the potential to vastly improve women’s experiences in health
transactions, choices, and rights. I am interested in designing interventions that employ creative
methods of research and technologies that can contribute to making topics that are sensitive,
alas fundamental, accessible; have a real impact in real lives and promote positive wellbeing.

++ I like crafting e-textiles and wearables, comics and graphic novels, science and nature, and
mostly anything that involves traveling.
