
What do you mean, Interactive? was an event started in 2009 as a series of talks, workshops,
and students' presentations and it was organized by the Interactive Art Pathway and the
Media Lab at LASALLE College of the Arts. It aimed at promoting Media Arts and Interactive Art mainly within the College. In collaboration with Andreas Schlegel, Lecturer Media Lab.
From 2009 through 2011 there were five events:
WDYMI 1: Softwear, by Tony Olsson (September 25, 2009)
Talk that discussed technology as a design tool, covering the beginnings of the Arduino platform
and how its methodology has inspired a new trend in teaching based on the open source movement.
It also presented a survey on the emerging field of fashion technology.
Workshop/students' final works (Level 2 Interactive Art) were also on display for play.
Tony Olsson is co-author of the book Open Softwear.
WDYMI 2: Open Studio | Work-in-Progress (October 26-29, 2009)
This one week event combined works by Alumni, experiments from the Media Lab, and work-in-progress by then Level 2 students in Interactive Art.
It was a show & tell about their explorations in interactive media, design & technology.
WDYMI 3: NAME Readymade, by Janez Jansa (January 18, 2010)
Janez Jansa is a conceptual artist, performer and producer working and living in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
His work has a strong socio-political connotation and is characterized by an inter-media approach.
He is the artistic director of Aksioma - Institute for Contemporary Art, Ljubljana, an organization that produces, presents and distributes projects that take advantage of new technologies and protocols in order to investigate and discuss the structures of modern society.
